Letter of the Week (Q)

Today I have completed my Letter of the Week task, The Letter of the Week was Q. I think Q was a little bit more challenging because I don't really use the letter Q that often. But I still Love Letter of the Week even though it's a little bit harder than last week's. I think this week's Letter of the Week is a SUPERNOVA because I searched up colours that start was Q and, put the colours that I liked in the background. The most challenging part about this week's Letter of the Week was trying to find a word that ended with Q because I couldn't think of any words, also I can't just Crl C, Crl V the words that I don't understand. So I researched the word that I used and now I know what ASQC means. (It means Emotional Impacted.) The easiest thing about this week's Letter of the Week was adding the Letter Q. Overall I rate my work a SUPERNOVA!

Chapter Chat! (NAZI Outfit)

Today I have completed my Week 7 Chapter Chat task. This task was to create a google drawing and make an outfit for the NAZI team. To make my task a SUPERNOVA, I made an outfit for a girl and a boy because I think that the girls should have an outfit too. The most challenging part about this week's Chapter Chat was trying to make the pants for the boy. The easiest part about this week's Chapter Chat was making the background colours for both of the outfits! Overall I rate my Chapter Chat task a SUPERNOVA!!!

Case Closed

Today we have solved our Whetu Case. Mrs. Taaffe came in and we showed her our evdence and she confessed to the Class that she committed the crime. In the holidays Mrs. Taaffe came into Whetu to get some work done and she really needed the HDIM cable. So she disconnected the alarm and came into Whetu, to get the HDIM cable. Then Mrs. Taaffe sore some Milkyway Chocolates and she loves mini chocolates. So she quickly took the HDIM cable and 18 Chocolates and ran to the door. But the door didn't open so she pushed on it and smashed the glass and cut herself on the door. Then Mrs. Taaffe ran out the door and stopped at the bushes and looked to see if the door was shut, It was and ran to her car. Even throw Mrs. Taaffe did this crime I still like her.

Letter of the Week (E)

Today I have completed This week's Letter of the Week. This week's letter was e, I think This week's Letter of the Week was really fun because I could use big words like Enclosure and easy words like egg. The most challenging part about this week's Letter of the Week was trying to make all of the words fit into the slide and making it look good where it is. The easiest part about this week's Letter of the Week was finding the picture of the Elephant and The Earth. To make my task a SUPERNOVA, I made the E letter go inside of the egg so I had enough space, but It looks pretty cool. Overall I rate my Letter of the Week task a SUPERNOVA!!!

Who Dunnit Writing

Chapter One

SPLASH! I dive into the water, I stand up and the freshwater is running down my face. It's amazing. Until CRASH! AHHHH all of the gear bags are GONE!! I get dressed out of my black togs into my fav outfit, my TSC (Thames Swimming Club or Taylors So Cool) Hoodie with my Flower top and black tights. I run out of the girls changing and see Melia staring at me… She's acting sus… I bet she dunnit, she stole the gear bags, she doesn’t have one!

I’II go and confront her. “Melia I know what you did!” I say in a confident voice.
“Uhhhhhh… What did I do?” Melia said, confused!
“Don’t play dum we all know it was you” I said.
 “What was me?” Melia says.
“Okay then,” I say… You stole all of the gear bags because you don’t have one!
“Ummm….. No!” said Melia.
 “I’m telling Chloe.”
“Melia, here's your gear bag,” Chole says (The swimming Couch).
“Thank you, Chloe,'' said Melia with a merk on her face.
“Uhhhhh….. Ummmmm……” I say weirdly, “I'm just gonna go…..”

Chapter Two
BANG I slam the door to the girl's bathroom. Hhgregg that's so embarrassing I feel sooooooo bad I should say sorry to Melia. I can never go show my face out with all of my swimming mates ever again. Ahggggggg, come on it's not that bad, Take a deep breath and face them. BANG the door shuts. “Hiiiiiiiiii, ummmm sorry about before.”
“I told you that I didn’t do anything!” Melia said I’m gonna say it….. I told you so.
“I know I should've trusted you. I just wanted my gear bag back, I just…..” I say
“It’s fine it’s all good under the hood” she said
“Thanks for understanding” I said
Sooooo, who actually stole all of the gear bags?? I thought….

Chapter Three
“Taylor.. Taylor… TAYLOR!!!” Mum screams
“what…”
“Oh honey it’s time to get ready for swimming.”
“MUM it’s 4:00 in the morning I have One more HOUR!!”
“Oh it’s great to be early come on”
10 minutes later
*snore* *snore* *snore*
TAYLOR!!!” Mum screams once again
(FINALLY, GET UP)
The wind is blowing in my hair making my lips cold. I get back into my seat and close the window. I start thinking about all of the gear bags that have been stolen. Maybe there back, maybe somebody brought them back, maybe just maybe. I get excited when we get to the Thames pool, I run out and go straight to the gear bag container.
“TAYLOR walks don’t run by the pool,” says Chloe
“Ok fine,” I say well fast walking as fast as I can. My mouth dropped, I saw somebody wearing a black coat. It’s really weird!

Chapter Four
I run after the stage person, I can’t run anymore, I slow down and I can’t see them anymore. But, I can’t stop now I have to find the gear bags, I have to. I keep running and running and you guessed it… RUNNING! I take a wrong turn and end up in the scary alleyway. THUMP! BANG! RATATAT! I try to scream but nothing comes out. It's, It’s.. a Kitty Cat??? Meeeeoooowwww! The cuteness of the Alleycat is affecting me. I have to pet it!! Here kitty, kitty. HISSSSSSSSS! Ahhhh! I resist the cuteness of the Kitty cat and run to find the real reason why I was there. I Sprint back to the pools and find this homeless person on the side of the pools with all of the gear bags beside her. I bolted over to her and stopped… she was crying….
Why??? Ummmm, Miss are you ok??? I said shyly
“I did something…. Something bad” she said “I stole all of the Thames Swimming gear bags and I feel bad about it, I just want to swim too.”
“Ok Ok, Thames Swimming will buy you your own gear bag and only if you give the gear bags to me,” I said excitingly
“Yes Yes 1,000 times YES!” she screamed in excitement!
So she gives me all of the gear bags and she started learning to swim and that’s how Lauren Boyle started to be a famous NZ swimmer!!

Yesterday it was our school Athletics day! I always loved doing Athletics because I love that my training has paid off. I was in the age group of 11-year-old girls. I felt nervous and excited because I love the feeling of stepping out of my confront zone and trying to get better every time. In the 800 m race, I came 3rd. In Hight jump, I came 5th, and in the 200 m, I came 3rd.  I think used the leading power of resilience because I kept trying even throw I thought it was hard. CSI Whetu Case 2020 (Finger Prints)

Lately, for our Whetu Case, we have been working on Fingerprints. Sally is a police officer she came to our class to show and teach us about fingerprints. She showed us how she makes fingerprints visible, she uses this special police dust. She told us that there are main fingerprints, There's the Loop, The Whorl, and the Arch. They're more like The double loop, Accidental Loop, and The Peak Arch. Everyone's fingerprints are different even if they look the same. Even, twins have different fingerprints, but the DNA will still be the same. Fingerprints are something that you get when your 16 months in your mother tummy, Isn't that interesting. I love this Whetu Case so far I wonder what the next thing where going to work on!

Whetu Case 2020

On Monday I came to school, It seemed like a normal day. But it wasn't! I got to the Whetu Team classroom and sore police tape. I wondered what happened when we were all on holiday.

Who

The Whetu team + The Whetu Teachers! Also the crazy maniac how tried to break down our wonderful classroom to just steal some Milkyway chocolates.

What

At the scene, there's a broken window with blood on it and the door, There 15 Milkways all scatter all over the down, There's a broken vase with flowers in it, There's a mug with a little bit of coffee/Tea on the bench, Also on the bench, there are a bloody tissue and a tissue box and lastly footprints up and down the floor!

Where

The address is 52 Orchard West Road, Ngatea 3503 Ngatea Primary School. In Whetu classroom (The Milkyway Space)

    When

It seemed like the crime was committed in the holidays on the weekend (Saturday + Sunday) We came into the classroom to see what happened at 10:16 AM. The weather was Overcast a little sunny but mostly cloudy.

     Why

I think that somebody was really REALLY hungry for Milkyway Chocolates and Mrs. Kennedy brought all of the Milkyway Chocolates for The Whetu students. So they broke into Whetu and tried to steal all of the Milkyway Chocolates!

Here are some photos of the scenes!

Whetū Workshops Reflection

Whetū Workshops Reflection

During Term 2 and 3 the Whetū students have had the opportunity to be involved in a range of different workshops.

The workshop that I have enjoyed participating in the most this term was Chapter Chat because I loved trying to make my task’s better and better every week. But last term I also loved doing Drama because I love being myself and not worrying about what other people think of me.

The new learning that I have learnt is knowing how to water a bean properly and how not to overfeed the bean because the bean will drown.

What I have most enjoyed about the workshops Science experiments when we did the lemon juice. I liked this workshop because I could learn more about acids and the type of stuff.

I am interested in learning more about Science experiments because the first Science experiment I did was really fun and I learnt a lot about lemon juice in balloons!

Jean Batten was born in Rotorua New Zealand, Jean Batten went to Melmerby School for Young Ladies. Jean Batten had a Father and Two Brothers, However, there's no record of Jean ever Married or had any children. Cross Country Reflection

Cross Country Reflection 2020

This year I participated in the NPS Cross Country held at school on the Ngatea Domain. I ran in the 10 age group.

I am most proud of my placement because I improved for last year where I came 3rd but this year I came 2nd so I am really proud of myself. I also got into Hauraki plains. !

I think my effort towards our training at school was 10 out of 10. I tried so hard and I am so proud of myself for pushing myself farther than before.

I showed the Learning Power of Resilience by not stopping the whole race! I was resistant to keep running and I didn't stop!

My photos :)
