Chapter Chat!

Today I have completed my Chapter Chat for my workshop. I chose Chapter Chat again for my workshop because there were different tasks and I just love creating different pieces of artwork! I think my Chapter Chat is a SUPERNOVA because I put sprinkles in the background because sprinkles are one of Minnesota's favourite ice cream toppings.

My Famous Person PUBISHED!

Today I have completed my Famous person writing, I chose my famous person to be Jean Batten. I chose Jean Batten because she was the first female to fly a plane by herself, So I thought that was pretty cool. I drew an airplane because Jean Batten flow airplanes before she died. I think that my Famous Person work is a SUPERNOVA!

Maths Investigation Part 2

Today I have completed my Maths Investigation Part 2. Mrs. Kennedy got every group to do some shape rotating to know what shapes look like upside down and that type of stuff. I really liked doing this week's maths Investigation because the heart a little bit challenging but it was still really fun!

Whetū Workshops Reflection

Whetū Workshops Reflection

During Term 2 and 3 the Whetū students have had the opportunity to be involved in a range of different workshops.

The workshop that I have enjoyed participating in the most this term was Chapter Chat because I loved trying to make my task’s better and better every week. But last term I also loved doing Drama because I love being myself and not worrying about what other people think of me.

The new learning that I have learnt is knowing how to water a bean properly and how not to overfeed the bean because the bean will drown.

What I have most enjoyed about the workshops Science experiments when we did the lemon juice. I liked this workshop because I could learn more about acids and the type of stuff.

I am interested in learning more about Science experiments because the first Science experiment I did was really fun and I learnt a lot about lemon juice in balloons!

Maths Investigation Mahi

Today I have completed my Maths Investigation Mahi! This task was really relaxing and easy to do. This week's Maths Investigation Mahi was about rotating pictures of different animals. There was nothing challenging about this weeks task it was very easy and I really liked doing this task!

Maths Challenge Mahi

Today I have completed my Maths Challenge Mahi. This week Maths Challenge Mahi was pretty easy but there were some challenging parts in there to. I feel like a need to work on my Proportions & Ratios because it is pretty challenging for me. But I worked really hard on my Proportions & Ratios. The easiest part about this week's Maths Challenge Mahi was probably Addition and Subtraction because I know that type of maths.

My Art!

Today I have completed my Art. We have been having workshops on our POP art. Pop art is like Hot Colour and Cool colors being together and making it POP! I loved creating my artwork and I think it came out exactly how I wanted it to be. The one thing I would change about my artwork probably to add more Red and Orange and less yellow because I feel like the yellow is way too big! But overall I still like how it turned out. I think my work is a SUPERNOVA!

My Zoo Inquiry

For the last couple of weeks, we have been doing Inquiry "So What" for the question Should animals be kept in zoos? I think animals should be kept in zoos because instead animals like the black repented are really rare and because of zoos, they are still around!

Chapter Chat!

Today I have compleded my Chapter Chat! We had three days to do it because Chapter Chat was one of own Opt in Work shops that I chosed. My task was to Plan and then design my own hat. I chose this task because everybody else was doing the evil nachos and I had a great idea for this task. My favourite part about my task was colouring in the words DON'T ASK! The most challenging thing about my task was colouring in the hat because it toke so long. The easiest part about my task was writing the Title and my name up the top! I think my task is a SUPERNOVA because I added the words DON'T ASK! In the hat.

Maths investigation Mahi!

Today I have completed my Maths investigation Mahi. This week's Maths investigation Mahi was all about trying to cope the little picture up the up of the page and enlarge it. We also had to use our maths skills and count what drawing was in a square. We had to do one hard one and one simple one. I loved this Maths investigation Mahi task because it was pretty challenging and fun after because you could see how much your drawing looked like the picture on the top.

The easiest part about this week's Maths Challenge Mahi 1st Question on the 2nd page because I know my Times Tables! The next task I am going to do is Maths investigation Mahi.

My Bean NOW!

This is my Bean. I have been really looking after it over the last 1 or 2 months. My Bean was really bad at the start and mine was smaller than everybody else's even if I was in the first group to grow the beans. But now I think mine is really healthy and good!

My Report on Jean Batten!

My Hero is Jean Batten!

Jean Gardner Batten was named Jane but was changed over time and now goes off the name Jean. Jean Batten’s date of birth is September 15th of 1909, Sadly Jean Batten died on the 22nd of November 1982. She lived until she was 73. Jean Batten was born in Rotorua New Zealand, Jean Batten went to Melmerby School for Young Ladies. Jean Batten had a Father and Two Brothers, However, there's no record of Jean ever Married or had any children. In 1942 Jean Batten enrolled into a girl's boarding school collage in Remuera in Auckland where she studied ballet and piano after becoming an Australian pilot.

In May 1934, Jean Batten successfully flew solo from England to Australia women’s record of England aviator Amy Johnson by over four days.In two of Jean Batten's Flights, a black kitten accompanied Jean Batten that she’d named Buddy. Jean Ballens Profession is a Pianist, an Aircraft pilot.

I chose Jean Gardner Batten because Females can do anything that Males can do if we try hard enough. Jean Battens Quote was Every flyer who ventures across oceans to distant lands is a potential explorers; In his or her breasts burns the same fire that urged the adventures of old to set forth in their sailing ships for foreign lands!

Cross Country Reflection

Cross Country Reflection 2020

This year I participated in the NPS Cross Country held at school on the Ngatea Domain. I ran in the 10 age group.

I am most proud of my placement because I improved for last year where I came 3rd but this year I came 2nd so I am really proud of myself. I also got into Hauraki plains. !

I think my effort towards our training at school was 10 out of 10. I tried so hard and I am so proud of myself for pushing myself farther than before.

I showed the Learning Power of Resilience by not stopping the whole race! I was resistant to keep running and I didn't stop!

My photos :)

Chapter Chat Week 4 Term 3!

The week the Whetu Team has been reading a book called Wink! It's about this boy called Ross trying to spend his life with one eye open. He has one eye open because he was diagnosed with Eye Cancer. This is Whetu's first Chapter Chat since lockdown so I was really excited to get started. The Chapter chat task that I did was Vocabulary and that was to Research the following words: Biopsy, Malignant, Carcinoma, Lacrimal Gland, Triangulation & Proton radiotherapy. I chose this task because I thought that It would be fun learning about the sciencey words. Instead of finding the mean, I found different words for that word like Biopy/Study! I think my task is a SUPERNOVA!!

Whetu Challenge (Google Drawing)

Today's Whetu Challenge we did the Cartoon Character Creation. The Cartoon Character Creation Challenge was all about trying to make a Cartoon Character with your learning Constellation group. The people in my group were Hannah, Micheal, Cohen, Sophie, Jai, and Janko. Cohen didn't really get his finished and Sophie I tried to help her and so I made it a shadow in the air. The most challenging thing about this week's Whetu Challenge was trying not to double click or it will not work! My favourite part about this week's Whetu Challenge was probably the background it looks great! I think the best Cartoon Character Creation is probably the Wine Gums I think they did Awsome!!!

Cross Word

It's a new week so now The Whetu team has new Work to do! This term is a little different from the last term because we don't have Must do's and Can do's anymore. I think we still don't do any TTRS (Times Tables Rock Stars). Anyway, about my Work, This is the first time I have done one of these and it was really fun! I Loved doing this!
