Whetu Challenge Egg Drop!

Today's Whetu Challenge we did The Egg Drop Challenge. The Egg Drop Challenge was all about trying to make the best parachute to drop an egg down with! We used Scissors, Tape, 2 Balloons, 3 straws, string, paper bag, and My odd Sock. I worked with Carlee, Victoria, and Me of course. I think we really worked well together because we shared our ideas and thought of the best thing we thought was best. Our egg unfortunately broke but it's okay because we did our best and that's the only thing we could do. I am still proud of our creation. The most exciting thing was going to see if the egg cracked! The most challenging thing was cutting the string. The easiest thing was tieing up the 2 of the balloons.

Matariki Star

It's a new term so now The Whetu team has new Work to do! This term is a little different from the last term because we don't have Must do's and Can do's anymore. I think we still don't do any TTRS (Times Tables Rock Stars). Anyway about my Work, So we had to create a Matariki Star, It was all about drawing symbols too represent different stars. It was pretty easy and hard at times, I loved drawing symbols for the Tupu A Nuku star because I could draw some flowers and some carrots. I think my work is a SUPERNOVA!

Matariki Word Find Term 3

It's a new term so now The Whetu team has new Work to do! This term is a little different from the last term because we don't have Must do's and Can do's anymore. I think we still don't do any TTRS (Times Tables Rock Stars). Anyway about my Work, So we had it find words in this little square thingy! I think this was really REALLY easy because I love doing Word finds. I think this task was really cool because it was basted on Matariki!

Matariki Work! Term 3

It's a new term so now The Whetu team has new Work to do! This term is a little different from the last term because we don't have Must do's and Can do's anymore. I think we still don't do any TTRS (Times Tables Rock Stars). Anyway about my Work, So we had to find out if the following sentence is Fact or Fiction. I think that it was pretty easy because I think that Matariki doesn't celebrate the Indian new year! On the other page, it was a Mix and Match, This was pretty hard at times but I finished it with a smile.

Matariki Creation

Today is Matariki!!! So I made a Creation, Matariki is all about the 7 stars (9) of Matariki. So I drew 8 circles because I put Waiti and Waita together. it was really fun! I will be doing Matariki Creations until June 15th because that is when Matariki ends. So about the Creation, It was pretty easy but the most challenging part was trying to try and think what I should draw for Hawai-i-te-Rangi. The easiest part was drawing the stars in the background and writing Matariki. HAPPY MATARIKI EVERYONE!!!! ðŸ¥³ðŸ¥³ðŸ¥³

My Animation

The Term when the Whetu Team came out of Lockdown we started to do Workshops! One of the workshops that were all of the time was Art and only on Wednesdays we would have Basketball! The other three would be anything the Teachers can do at that time. One of the last Workshops were Google Slides Animation, and I did that. The most challenging part was being Patient because we had to move the charters a little bit and a little bit more. I ended up with 351 slides! The easiest part about making this animation was finding out what I was going to do.

Blog Challenge (Dream Hoilday)

This week is a new week so the Whetu Team has new activities to do, and we still don't have any TT rock stars and Mindfulness colouring and I think that's a good idea because people don't know when to stop. Anyway, we still have must do's and can do's, Must Do's for, writing, Must-Dos are The Whetu Reflection and No Can do's. Must Do's for Reading Must-Dos are Matariki Jigsaw and NO Can Dos. For Maths Must-Dos IS Study Ladder. and Can Dos is Maths Challenge and there is a New Blog Challenge for the week. Also Word of the week but I did the Blog challenge because I have done all of my Must d's and every week I try and do more than my must do's! I loved doing this Blog Challenge. It was about your Dream Holiday, my Dream holiday is to go to Aussie because my Aunty Casey said when I'm 21 she will take me to Aussie so it will work out. The most challenging thing about this week's blog challenge was trying to find the cost of the flight because it came up with COVID 19 alerts and that the borders are open!  But when I just want to cost's for 2 people to go on a plane to Aussie! The easiest part was finding picture's to decorate!

Word of the Week (Oblivious)

This week is a new week so the Whetu Team has new activities to do, and we still don't have any TT rock stars and Mindfulness colouring and I think that's a good idea because people don't know when to stop. Anyway, we still have must do's and can do's, Must Do's for, writing, Must-Dos are The Whetu Reflection and No Can do's. Must Do's for Reading Must-Dos are Matariki Jigsaw and NO Can Dos. For Maths Must-Dos IS Study Ladder. and Can Dos is Maths Challenge and there is a New Blog Challenge for the week. Also Word of the week but I did the Word of the Week because I have done all of my Must do's for the week. Oblivious means that your unaware and not paying attention and I know this because I learn everything and didn't just Ctrl C and Ctrl v everything! The most challenging thing about this week's word of the week was nothing really this task was pretty easy and fun! But the easiest thing about this task was picking the popping colours!

Maths Mystery! (Code Breaking)

Every Week the Whetu Team does a Math Challenge. It is a Mystery about The Mystery of the Murder at the Movies! I worked by myself because I haven't work by myself in ages!  This Week's Maths Mystery was different than normal Maths Mystery because It was just code-breaking no culprits no nothing! Well, it was really fun though. It was pretty easy so there was nothing challenging about this week's Maths Mystery. But the easiest part was the first slide because their were lest codes to break!

Matariki Jigsaw

This week is a new week so the Whetu Team has new activities to do, and we still don't have any TT rock stars and Mindfulness colouring and I think that's a good idea because people don't know when to stop. Anyway, we still have must do's and can do's, Must Do's for, writing, Must-Dos are The Whetu Reflection and No Can do's. Must Do's for Reading Must-Dos are Matariki Jigsaw and NO Can Dos. For Maths Must-Dos IS Study Ladder. and Can Dos is Maths Challenge and there is a New Blog Challenge for the week. Also Word of the week but I did the Matariki Jigsaw because It was one of my Must do's! I think this is a SUPERNOVA because I spent A lot of time on it and I put so much love and effort into it. The most challenging part about this task was cutting all 16 Puzzle pieces because it was so hard to get my little scissors around the edges. The easiest thing about this task was colouring it in!

Term 2 2020 Reflection

My Term 2, 2020 Reflection
The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term is the Number of the Day because we used to do Daily 5! I think the Number of the Day is better because the Number of the Day challenges me more than Daily 5 did. I like doing the three-digit Number for Number of the Day. It really challenges me and now how to do Bed Maths without asking a teacher for help. I also enjoy the new rotations because it has been really fun learning new things.

Something that has challenged me this term has been remembering to go on Studyladder. I need to make sure I do it more often. Also, it was challenging when I first started Number of the Day because I didn’t know how to triple it, x 5, and beds! I know how to do it now, but it was really hard until I got a hang on it. I don't find it hard anymore.

The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was the Paper Planes Challenge. It was really fun making a paper plane that could be good or bad, and try and make it go straight. My Paper Plane was pretty good, I got into the final round and my plane was pretty straight. I think that it was my favorite!

The opt-in workshop I enjoyed the most has been Art because I have really enjoyed doing it. My art is turning out exactly how I planned. I have just finished my border and I am up to the inside of my artwork! I also liked Basketball because I learned new Basketball skills and now I know some of the rules. Couch Dave is really nice and the Basketball based games are really fun and I think that I might play Basketball this year.

An aim I have for my learning is to get 20 out of 20 for Number of the Day because on Monday I got 19 out of 20. I hope next time I will get 20 out of 20! I also aim to sit with different people because I might get more learning done. Sometimes I sit by the same people at the same table!
